When thinking of lip colour one might first of all consider the classic red lipstick. But from bronze, berry and beige over coral, cherry and chocolate to rose, ruby and finally red, the range of colours is wide and one can easily loose himself within it. However, you need to watch your skin tone first to see that unfortunately not all the colours suit you.
If you have fair skin, pick shades of apricot, while medium skin toned types should rather go for plum or pink lip colour. If you have olive skin, look for peach and brown products whereas people with dark skin should choose orange, brown and bronze. Refer to the skin tone section of our site for further information.
Finding the right shade also depends on your natural lip tone. The way a shade looks in the tube is not the way it looks on your lips, therefore you might need to try out a few shades of the same colour first before you get to the one that suits you perfectly.
While you try out several shades, be advised that light shades usually make your lips look larger whereas dark shades make your lips appear smaller.
Nevertheless, the classic red lipstick is always a great way to make yourself getting noticed, suits most common skin tones and is an instant upgrade to your whole appearance.
